Microsoft partners with Yotta to drive AI innovation in India

Microsoft is partnering with Yotta Data Services, the leading provider of sovereign cloud infrastructure and platform services in India, to encourage the use of AI. This project was announced on May 28, 2025, with the mission to better equip participants in the IndiaAI Mission, as well as government offices, IITs, startups, companies, and software development companies, to accelerate AI progress.

Azure’s AI solutions are integrated with Yotta’s AI-focused Shakti Cloud, providing developers, startups, enterprises, and individuals in the public sector across India a way to access advanced AI capabilities. With Azure AI Foundry, this partnership will enable India to reach its goal of leading with AI, providing access to advanced ecosystems and a wide range of both LLMs and SLMs. They will support India in creating, launching, and growing AI solutions that fit its unique situation.

He pointed out that India is one of the leaders in using AI and generating benefits from it and the new partnership will offer support to keep AI development in India responsible and safe.

Shakti Cloud gives users easy-to-use security tools such as filters, groundedness checking and copyright safeguards. Their devotion to trust, security, and privacy is why Microsoft provides software, infrastructure and cloud services around the globe.

He pointed out that combining Microsoft’s services and Yotta’s infrastructure will create unique opportunities for AI development in the nation and help make advanced AI available to all types of businesses.

In January 2025, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella revealed that Microsoft was partnering with IndiaAI to move forward in AI and advanced technologies, which involved establishing an AI Centre of Excellence and AI Productivity Labs to support inclusive prosperity.

This partnership will leverage Microsoft’s global experience and Yotta’s Indian cloud services to greatly improve India’s AI ecosystem, help innovation and enable organizations to succeed in AI.
