On January 7, 2025, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said the organization intends to invest $3 billion in India on AI and cloud infrastructure in the next two years. The declaration comes a day after the CEO meeting with our PM Narendra Modi.

The world's most populated country has turned into Artificial intelligence battleground over the most recent years, as US tech giants seek track down new clients for their services and tap into new pools of talents.

On Tuesday, Nadella said the $3 billion venture would incorporate the setting up of new data centers.

"India is rapidly becoming a leader in AI innovation, unlocking new opportunity across the country," Nadella said.

"The investments in infrastructure and skilling we are announcing today reaffirm our commitment to making India AI-first, and will help ensure people and organisations across the country benefit broadly."

The global embrace of Artificial Intelligence has buttressed sales of Microsoft's key cloud services, and this has turned into the center of its business under the leadership of Satya Nadella.

"The United States is poised to stand at the forefront of this new technology wave, especially if it doubles down on its strengths and effectively partners internationally," he said in an online post.
